Deaconess Anita K. Maldon, a native of Greenwood, Florida was born to the late Henry Keith and Mary Burns. At an early age, she accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Lord and Savior, and was baptized. Deaconess Maldon graduated from Chipola Junior College, Marianna, Florida and Florida State University, Tallahassee, Florida. She retired from the Federal Government after more than thirty-five years of service.
Deaconess Maldon joined the Peace Baptist Church, Washington, D. C. in October of 1975 and was an active member for more than twenty-eight years. She faithfully served in various capacities at Peace Baptist Church until her husband accepted the call to pastor the Sylvan Vista Baptist Church in October of 2003. As the First Lady of Sylvan Vista Baptist Church, she is an anointed teacher of the word of God and a fervent prayer warrior. She currently serves as chairperson of the Deaconess ministry, Assistant Sunday School Superintendent, Church Administrator, and is also a member of the Music and Evangelism Ministries.
Deaconess Maldon is married to the Rev. Charles E. Maldon, Sr., the loving mother of two children and a proud and caring grandmother. She is a servant of God who a natural encourager and allows herself to be used by God to bless the lives of many.
